Sublimation Artwork Guidelines (File Types, Size Rules & Quality Tips)

Sublimation printing produces vibrant, full-colour results — but the final quality depends heavily on your artwork file setup.

This guide explains what file types we need, how to prepare your design, and what to avoid.

✅ Preferred File Types (Best Quality)

To achieve the best result, submit artwork in vector format:

✅ AI
✅ EPS
✅ SVG
✅ PDF (vector)

Vector artwork ensures:

  • sharp lines
  • clean text
  • scalable sizes
  • best clarity for logos

✅ Accepted File Types (Still Usable)

If vector artwork is not available, we can work with:

✅ PNG (transparent background)
✅ JPG (high quality)

Minimum requirements:
✅ 300 DPI at the intended print size
✅ clean edges
✅ no pixelation
✅ no screenshots

 

PS: We will need to convert these to vector images. The cost is a small norminal fee.

✅ Print Size (IMPORTANT)

Sublimation is often used for large coverage printing and full shirt prints.

When submitting your artwork, include:
✅ width and height in cm
✅ placement (front / back)
✅ any safe margin rules you want to follow

Examples:

  • Small chest logo: 10cm × 10cm
  • Back print: 30cm × 30cm
  • Full shirt print: Large coverage front/back

✅ Colours & Background Rules

Because sublimation prints directly into polyester fibres:
✅ colours can be extremely vibrant
✅ gradients and photos are supported
✅ full-colour designs are encouraged

However:
❌ dark polyester garments usually don’t sublimate well
✅ sublimation works best on white or light-coloured garments

✅ Text Rules (Avoid Small Text)

Sublimation can print small text, but to ensure clean results:
✅ use clear fonts
✅ avoid overly thin lines
✅ avoid extremely small wording

✅ Artwork Checklist

Before placing your order, check:
✅ correct file type
✅ correct print size in cm
✅ placement confirmed (front/back)
✅ 300 DPI if raster
✅ transparent background for PNG
✅ no screenshots or blurry images

✅ If You Need Help

If you only have a low-quality image, we can assist with:

✅ print-ready file setup
