HOW TO ORDER EMBROIDERY

How to Order Custom Embroidery (Step-by-Step Guide)

Ordering embroidery is slightly different from ordering printed shirts because embroidery requires:
✅ stitch count estimation
✅ digitising (embroidery file setup)
✅ confirmation of logo size and placement

This guide shows you exactly how to order embroidered garments through Custom T Shirt Printing Online, from first quote request to delivery or pickup.

✅ Step 1 - Decide What You’re Embroidering

Embroidery is best suited to:

  • Polos
  • Jackets
  • Hoodies
  • Uniforms
  • Workwear

Before requesting a quote, decide whether you want:
Supplied garments (we source them for you)
or
BYO garments (you provide garments for embroidery only)

⚠️ BYO garments are supplied at client risk (we can’t refund supplied garments if they shrink, tear, or behave unexpectedly during embroidery).

✅ Step 2 - Confirm Your Embroidery Placement(s)

Most embroidery is done in these locations:

  • Left chest (most common)
  • Right chest
  • Sleeve
  • Back neck (small)
  • Large back embroidery (premium, but higher stitch count)

Most cost-effective option:
Front chest embroidery only (approx. 10cm × 10cm)

✅ Step 3 — Measure Your Logo Size in CM

Embroidery pricing is strongly affected by size because size impacts stitch count.

Most common logo size:
✅ 10cm × 10cm (chest)

If you are unsure:

  • Estimate the size you want.
  • We will confirm during mockups before production.

✅ Step 4 - Prepare Your Artwork File

To quote and digitise accurately, we recommend:

✅ Embroidery vector file formats (preferred):

  • EMB, or
  • DST

If you only have:

  • PNG
  • JPG
  • Screenshot

That’s okay — we can still provide a quote, but you may need artwork clean-up before production. We can arrange this for a fee.

Embroidery cannot stitch photographic gradients or complex shading.
If your logo is very detailed, we may recommend simplifying it or using DTF printing.

✅ Step 5 - Request a Quote (What We Need From You)

To receive an accurate embroidery quote, please send:

1) Quantity + size breakdown

Example:

  • 5 × S, 3 × M, 2 × L

2) Garment type

  • Polo / jacket / hoodie / workwear / Trucker cap or Bucket hat
  • Supplied garments or BYO

3) Embroidery placement(s)

Example:

  • Left chest only

4) Logo size (cm)

Example:

  • 10cm wide × 10cm high

5) Deadline

Example:

  • Needed by Friday 12 Jan

6) Pickup or shipping

  • Pickup (Brisbane / Melbourne)
  • Australia-wide shipping
  • Express shipping available for tight deadlines

7) Artwork file

  • Attach your vector file if possible. Or attach a copy (snapshot of logo) and we can help reproduce it. Charges apply for this extra service.

8) Optional reference images

  • Photos of past embroidered shirts (if you have them)

✅ Step 6 — What Happens After You Send Your Quote Request?

Once we receive your quote information:

1) We estimate stitch count

We review your logo size and complexity to calculate the stitch count.

2) We send a quote

Your quote will include:

✅ Garment options (if supplied)
✅ Embroidery cost estimate
✅ Digitising fee (if required)
✅ Setup fees (if required)
✅ Turnaround time + delivery/pickup options

3) We send mockups

Once you approve the quote, we create mockups showing:

  • Placement
  • Size
  • Embroidery preview

4) You approve mockups

Mockup approval is required before production begins.

5) You receive an invoice

Once mockups are approved:

✅ We send your invoice
✅ Production starts after payment is received

✅ Step 7 - Production + Turnaround Times

Standard embroidery turnaround is typically:
approx. 2 weeks (depends on job size and garment availability)

Production time begins after:
✅ quote approval
✅ artwork approved
✅ digitising complete
✅ invoice paid

✅ Step 8 - Pickup or Delivery

Pickup

Pickup is available in:
