EMBROIDERY PRICING (GUIDE + STITCH COUNT EXPLAINER)

Embroidery Pricing Guide (How Embroidery Costs Are Calculated)

Embroidery pricing is different from DTG, DTF, or screen printing because embroidery uses thread and stitch count to create the design. This means the cost depends heavily on the size and complexity of your logo — not just quantity.

This page explains how embroidery pricing works and provides price examples as guides only.

✅ Important note:
Embroidery prices shown here are guides only, based on real orders.
Final pricing depends on:

  • Garment type
  • Stitch count
  • Logo size (cm)
  • Embroidery placement(s)
  • Artwork complexity
  • Turnaround time

1) What Affects Embroidery Pricing?

✅ A) Stitch Count (The Biggest Cost Factor)

Stitch count is the number of stitches required to embroider your logo.

Small, simple logos = lower stitch count = lower cost

Larger, detailed logos = higher stitch count = higher cost

Example:

  • ✅ A simple chest logo is usually affordable
  • ⚠️ A large back logo can become expensive because of high stitch volume

✅ B) Logo Size (cm)

Common logo sizes:

  • 5cm–8cm small chest logo
  • 10cm × 10cm standard uniform chest logo
  • 12cm–15cm larger chest logo (more stitch count)

💡 Bigger logo = more stitches = higher cost.

✅ C) Number of Embroidery Positions

Each embroidery position adds cost.

Common positions:

  • Left chest (most common)
  • Right chest
  • Sleeve
  • Back neck
  • Large back (highest stitch count)

✅ D) Garment Type (Supplied vs BYO)

Embroidery pricing changes based on:

  • Fabric thickness
  • Garment structure
  • Garment cost (if supplied)

✅ We can:

  • Supply garments
  • Embroider client-supplied garments (“BYO jobs”)

BYO garments are supplied at client risk.

✅ E) Digitising / Embroidery File Setup

Embroidery requires a digitised embroidery file.

This is:

  • a one-time cost per logo design
  • needed before production begins
  • required when you submit a new logo

Digitising cost depends on logo complexity.

2) Embroidery Pricing Examples (Guides Only)

✅ Example 2 - Client Supplied Jackets (BYO Embroidery Job Guide)

  • Quantity: 16 jackets

  • Size: approx. 10cm × 10cm

  • Digitising + machine setup applied

Digitising / embroidery file setup                 $60.50
Machine setup fee $42.35
Total cost $401.52

✅ This is a BYO job (client supplied garments).

3) How to Reduce Embroidery Costs (Best Tips)

If you want embroidery to be more cost-effective:

✅ Keep logos at chest size (10cm × 10cm or smaller)
✅ Simplify fine details where possible
✅ Avoid large back embroidery unless necessary
✅ Use one position only (chest is most cost-effective)
✅ Order more garments (reduces per-unit embroidery cost)

4) Minimum Quantities (What’s Best for Value?)

Embroidery is possible on small orders, but the price per garment improves at higher quantities.

✅ Best value levels:

  • 10+
  • 20+
  • 50+

If you only need 1–5 pieces, embroidery is still possible, but:

  • The digitising cost can dominate the total price.
  • DTF or DTG may be cheaper for very small orders depending on the design.

5) When to Choose Embroidery Instead of Printing

Embroidery is recommended when:

  • ✅ You want a premium corporate uniform look
  • ✅ You want long-lasting stitched branding
  • ✅ Your garments are polos, jackets, or workwear
  • ✅ Your logo is simple enough for stitching

If your artwork contains:

  • Gradients
  • Photos
  • Complex colour blends

DTF printing may be recommended instead.

6) Need a Personalised Embroidery Quote?

To provide an accurate quote, we need:

  1. Quantity + size breakdown
