HOW TO ORDER DTG PRINTED SHIRTS (ORDERING GUIDE)

How to Order DTG Printed Shirts (Step-by-Step Guide)

Ordering DTG (Direct-to-Garment) printed shirts is simple when the correct information is prepared before you start. DTG printing is ideal for full-colour designs, detailed artwork, and smaller to medium quantities, especially on cotton garments.

This guide explains how to place an order accurately and avoid delays.

Step 1 - Choose the Garment You Want Printed

DTG works best on cotton garments. Start by choosing the garment type and style, such as:

  • T-shirts
  • Hoodies
  • Cotton-rich apparel

Your garment selection can influence:

  • Final print quality
  • Pricing
  • Turnaround time

Step 2 - Choose Garment Colour & Sizes

Before ordering, confirm:

  • garment colour (white, black, grey, etc.)
  • full size breakdown (S, M, L, XL, etc.)

DTG can print across different sizes and colours, but garment choice affects cost and availability.

Step 3 - Decide Where the Artwork Will Be Printed

Choose your print locations:

  • Front only
  • Back only
  • Front + back
  • Sleeve (if available)

Each print position affects pricing, especially when printing large artwork.

Step 4 - Confirm Print Size (Important)

Provide approximate print dimensions in centimetres.

Common examples:

  • Small chest logo: 10 cm × 10 cm
  • Large front print: 20–30 cm wide
  • Large back print: 30 cm × 30 cm

Print size affects:

  • Ink usage
  • Print time
  • Final cost

Step 5 - Prepare Your Artwork Correctly

DTG can print detailed designs, but the artwork still needs to be print-ready.

For best results:

  • High-resolution files are required.
  • Clear edges and accurate colours matter.
  • Designs should be sized correctly.

Vector files are preferred, but high-quality raster files may also be suitable for DTG printing.

If your artwork needs adjustment or conversion, request help before production begins.

Step 6 - Choose Standard or Urgent Turnaround

DTG printing usually offers:

  • Standard turnaround (~2 weeks) – best value
  • Urgent turnaround – priority production at higher cost

Urgent availability depends on:

  • Garment stock
  • Artwork readiness
  • Production queue

Step 7 - Pickup or Delivery

Decide whether your order will be:

  • picked up
  • shipped via courier

Shipping timeframes depend on location and urgency. Express shipping is recommended when timelines are tight.

Step 8 - Request a Quote (Fastest Accurate Method)

To receive an accurate DTG quote, please provide:

  1. Quantity and size breakdown
  2. Garment style and colour
  3. Print locations (front/back/sleeve)
  4. Print size (cm)
  5. Required date
  6. Pickup or delivery
  7. Artwork files (vector formats)

We’ll respond with:

  • A detailed quote
  • Garment links (if required)
  • Mockups for approval
  • Invoice for payment
  • Production once confirmed

PS: Once in production we cannot make changes to layouts or artwork.

After Approval: What Happens Next

Once you approve the mockups and pricing:

  1. An invoice is issued.
  2. Payment is received.
  3. Your order enters production.
  4. You are notified once it is complete.
  5. Pickup or shipping occurs.
