How to Order DTF Printed Shirts

Ordering DTF (Direct-to-Film) printed shirts is a straightforward process when the right information is prepared in advance. This guide explains each step so your order can be quoted accurately and produced without delays.

The Steps

Step 1: Decide How Many Shirts You Need

Start by confirming:

  • Total quantity
  • Size breakdown (e.g., S, M, L, XL)
  • Whether sizes vary significantly

DTF is well suited to small and medium quantities, as well as urgent orders (orders needed in 10 days to 2 weeks).

Step 2: Choose the Garment Style

Select the garment you want printed, such as:

  • T-shirts
  • Hoodies
  • Polos
  • Other compatible apparel

Your garment choice can affect both the price and turnaround time, especially for urgent orders. For DTF printing, garments are typically made from either polyester or cotton.

Step 3: Confirm Print Locations

Decide where the design will be printed:

  • Front only
  • Back only
  • Front and back
  • Sleeve or additional placements (if required)

Each print position affects pricing.

Step 4: Confirm Print Size

Provide approximate print dimensions in centimetres:

  • Small chest logo (e.g. 10cm × 10cm)
  • Large front or back prints (e.g. 30cm wide)
  • Extra Large prints: 35 cm width

Larger prints require more material and handling.

Step 5: Prepare Your Artwork

Artwork should be:

  • High resolution
  • Correctly sized
  • Clear and final

Vector files are preferred, but high-quality raster files may also be suitable for DTF printing.

If artwork needs adjustment or conversion, this should be discussed before production.

Choose between:

  • Standard turnaround is 2 weeks (best value)
  • Urgent turnaround (priority production, higher cost). Check with us if you can get it done sooner

Turnaround availability depends on order size, artwork readiness, and garment stock.

Step 7: Decide on Pickup or Delivery

Confirm whether your order will be:

  • Picked up
  • Delivered via courier

Delivery timeframes vary depending on location and urgency. If urgent select express shipping only.

Step 8: Request a Quote

To receive an accurate DTF quote, please provide the following:

  1. Quantity
  2. Garment style/brand
  3. Print locations
  4. Print size (cm)
  5. Required date
  6. Pickup or delivery preference
  7. Artwork files

You’ll receive a detailed quote and mockups for approval before production begins.

After Approval

Once approved:

  • Artwork is finalised
  • Production begins
  • Orders are completed according to the selected turnaround time
  • You will be notified when your order is ready for pickup or dispatch
