DTF Printing Pricing Calculator (Estimate Guide)

DTF (Direct-to-Film) pricing depends on four main factors:

  1. Quantity of garments
  2. Number of print positions (front only vs front + back)
  3. Print size (small chest vs large back print)
  4. Turnaround (standard vs urgent)

Because every job is different, the calculator below provides an estimate range using real completed jobs as benchmarks.

Step 1 - Choose Your Quantity Range

  • 20–40 shirts → Typical DTF pricing is often in the low-to-mid $20s per shirt (depending on the artwork and print size).
  • 50–120 shirts → Per-shirt pricing usually stabilises; print placement and turnaround time tend to affect cost more than volume.
  • 150+ shirts → Per-shirt pricing can improve slightly, especially when using repeatable artwork.

Step 2 - Choose Print Positions

  • 1 position (front chest only)
    Best for logos and simple branding. Usually the most cost-effective DTF setup.
  • 2 positions (front + back)
    Higher cost due to additional printing and pressing time, especially with large back prints.

Step 3 -  Confirm Print Size

  • Small chest logo (e.g. ~10cm × 10cm)
  • Large front print (varies by design)
  • Large back print (e.g. ~30cm wide)
  • X-Large back print (e.g. ~35cm wide)

Large prints generally cost more than small prints due to transfer size and handling.

Step 4 - Choose Turnaround

  • Standard turnaround (~2 weeks)
    Best value when you can plan ahead.
  • Urgent turnaround
    Higher cost due to priority handling and production scheduling.

  • 30 shirts + front-only → expect a per-shirt price similar to Example 2
  • 100 shirts + front & back + urgent → expect a per-shirt price similar to Example 1
  • 150+ shirts + front & back + urgent → may move closer to Example 3 depending on the garment and print size
