SUBLIMATION FAQs

Sublimation Printing FAQs

Here are the most common questions customers ask about sublimation printing.

โœ… What is sublimation printing?

Sublimation is a printing method that infuses ink into polyester fabric using heat. The print becomes part of the garment.

โœ… What garments can be sublimated?

Sublimation works best on:
โœ… polyester garments
โœ… light colours (especially white)

โœ… Can you sublimate on black shirts?

Not typically. Sublimation does not print well onto dark garments. If you need full colour on dark shirts, DTF is usually best.

โœ… What is the minimum order quantity?

Minimum sublimation order:
โœ… 12 units

โœ… What is the turnaround time?

Standard sublimation turnaround:
โœ… 6-7 weeks

โœ… Can sublimation print photos or gradients?

Yes - sublimation supports full colour, photos, and gradients.

โœ… Is sublimation durable?

Yes - sublimation prints do not crack or peel because the ink becomes part of the fabric.

โœ… Can I print front and back?

Yes. Most sublimation orders include:
โœ… front + back printing
โœ… large print coverage

โœ… What file types do you need?

Preferred:
โœ… AI / EPS / SVG / PDF (vector)

Accepted:
โœ… PNG / JPG (300 DPI)

โœ… What printing method is faster than sublimation?

DTF and DTG are faster methods.
DTF is most similar for full-colour designs.
